Mary and the garden of mysteries (アニメひみつの花園, Himitsu no Hanazono?) Is a Japanese anime of 1991, transposition of the novel The Secret Garden Written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It is the story of Mary Lennox, a small orphan who goes to live by his uncle in England after the death of parents and discovers that in the castle where lived a wonderful secret garden.
After the death of their parents to an epidemic of typhus, the little Mary Lennox from faraway India goes to live in Yorkshire in England, in the castle of his uncle peter Crawen. Mary is a young girl originally scorbutica and flawed and immediately clashes with Mrs. Medlock, housekeeper of the castle and entrusted by the uncle of an education issue worthy of a girl of good family. È la storia di Mary Lennox, una piccola orfana che va a vivere dallo zio in Inghilterra dopo la morte dei genitori e che scopre nei pressi del castello dove abita un meraviglioso giardino segreto.
Dopo la morte dei genitori per un'epidemia di tifo, la piccola Mary Lennox dalla lontana India va ad abitare nello Yorkshire in Inghilterra, nel castello dello zio Arcibald Crawen. Mary è inizialmente una ragazzina scorbutica e viziata e subito si scontra con la signora Medlock, governante del castello ed incaricata dallo zio di impartirle un'educazione degna di una ragazza di buona famiglia.
